Ronan is a Centaur living in the Forbidden Forest. He has a slow, doleful voice.

Philosopher's Stone[sửa]
When Harry is serving his detention in the Forbidden Forest, he, Hermione, and Hagrid hear something moving. Challenged, the something moving turns out to be Ronan, a Centaur, who discusses astronomy ("Mars is very bright tonight").
Later, when Harry has encountered the being that is killing Unicorns, Firenze, another Centaur, rescues him, and offers to carry him back to Hagrid. As he is doing so, Ronan (along with Bane, another centaur), confront Firenze. Bane is infuriated that Firenze is acting as a beast of burden, while Ronan says dolefully that he is sure Firenze is doing what he thinks best.
Order of the Phoenix[sửa]
Ronan is one of the centaurs who confront Dolores Umbridge in the Forbidden Forest when Hermione is leading her (and Harry) to the supposed weapon they claim to have been working on. After Umbridge is spirited away, and the others are trying to decide what to do with Harry and Hermione, Ronan reminds the others that they do not attack foals.
Deathly Hallows[sửa]
A group of centaurs from the Forbidden Forest assisted at the Battle at Hogwarts. This group probably contained Ronan and Bane – we know that Hagrid addressed Bane directly when speaking to that group after Harry's apparent death. They came charging out of the Forbidden Forest, and started firing arrows at Voldemort and his followers. While the centaurs are generally dismissive of "human concerns," for whatever reason, they chose to interfere with Voldemort's plans in this instance.

Ronan is strong of character and has a well-aligned moral compass. He does not berate Firenze for carrying Harry in the first book, and exhorts the other centaurs to not harm the Trio in the fifth, as the centaurs "do not harm foals".
As a centaur himself, Ronan is also a well-practised archer, fighter and astrologer.

Relationships with Other Characters[sửa]
Ronan was part of a herd of centaurs. Other explicitly named members of the herd are Firenze, Bane and Magorian. He had a strong relationship with some members of the herd, but unlike Firenze, he strongly disapproved of meddling in human affairs, preferring to keep them at a distance.
